Two brothers arrested for 13 combined felonies.

On September 29, 2020, Spokane Police Department (SPD) Officer Estrada was dispatched to a burglary report in the area of 1700 E. 18th Avenue. While Officer Estrada was en-route, SPD received a report of a blocking vehicle in the area of 3000 S. Marshall Avenue. The caller provided the license plate info to Crime Check which revealed the blocking vehicle was a Tesla automobile registered to the burglary victim on 18th Avenue.

Officer Estrada confirmed the victim’s home had been entered and several of his belongings had been stolen to include a wallet, a laptop computer and his Tesla.

SPD Officers Hice, Mongan, Richardson and Willard arrived on Marshall Avenue and located two males walking away, separately, from the Tesla. Officers detained both men and identified them as Dennis R. Sprayberry (34) and Elijah R. Sprayberry (21).

A witness positively identified Elijah as the male he had seen sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle and he was arrested.

While trying to remove a knife from Dennis’s pants pocket, officers found a Tesla key card in his possession and he was arrested. Dennis’s identification would eventually be found inside the Tesla. Both men were in possession of some of the victim’s stolen property.

Dennis initially told officers he didn’t know the identity of the other male (Elijah) being detained. Dennis and Elijah are brothers.

Dennis a convicted felon. His most recent convictions are 2 counts of Robbery 1st degree. Dennis was arrested for the following charges: Possession of Stolen Property 2nd degree (6 counts), Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Residential Burglary, Dangerous Weapons, and Make/Have Motor Vehicle Theft Tools.

Elijah is a convicted felon. His most recent conviction is Assault 3rd degree. Elijah was arrested for the following Charges: Possession of Stolen Property 1st degree, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property 2nd degree (3 counts), Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree (5 counts), and a Department of Corrections warrant.

Both men were booked into the Spokane County Jail on the above listed charges. #2020-20171405
