A female is arrested for Assault 1st degree Domestic Violence after striking her boyfriend with her vehicle.

Today, October 14, 2020, around 3:00 p.m., Officers responded to a report of an automobile versus pedestrian collision in the area of Mission Avenue and Elm Street. A witness stated they thought the collision was intentional.

The vehicle struck the pedestrian on the north sidewalk area of Mission Avenue to the west of Elm Street. The vehicle continued up a grassy slope and struck the side of the A.M. Cannon Aquatic Center building.

Medics arrived on scene and evaluated both the pedestrian and the driver. Both subjects were transported to an area hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The driver is being evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert and a warrant is being sought for a blood draw.

Officers developed probable cause to arrest the driver, 35-year-old Christina M. Acosta, for Assault 1st degree Domestic Violence. Acosta and the victim have been involved in a dating relationship.

After treatment, Acosta will be booked into the Spokane County Jail.
