The driver of the vehicle involved in the single vehicle collision in the early hours of June 22, 2021 in the area of 2300 E. Trent Avenue has been identified as Selina Juarez (28 y/o). Juarez has been charged with Vehicular Homicide.
Original Release 6/22/21, 6:46 a.m.:
SPD investigating fatality collision in the area of 2300 E. Trent Avenue
On June 22, 2021 at approximately 3:00am, SPD officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the 2300 block of E. Trent Avenue.
Once on scene, a passenger in that vehicle was pronounced deceased. Another occupant of the vehicle was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Major Crimes Unit collision investigators are currently on scene investigating the incident.
SPD wants to inform the public to expect all lanes of traffic between E. Trent Avenue to N. Napa Street and E. Trent Avenue to E. Springfield Avenue to be closed for a number of hours.
SPD is asking anyone traveling for the morning commute to avoid this area, if possible.
