On 12/24/22 at approx. 3:45 a.m. SPD officers responded to a drive-by shooting located in the area of I-90 near the Thor-Freya exit. An Uber driver with four passengers reported the car they were traveling in was headed westbound on I-90 when another vehicle pulled up next to them and the occupant/s began firing into their vehicle. The Uber driver, who was shot and whose car was disabled from a gunshot, was able to navigate his car to an off-ramp at Division St. and drive to a nearby hospital. SPD officers arrived on the hospital grounds as the vehicle approached and immediately began tending to the injuries of the two people shot and transporting them to the emergency room. Both are expected to recover from their injuries.

SPD Major Crimes is investigating this case and asks the public if anyone has information on the shooting to please call Crime Check at 504-456-2233.
