E Cleveland homicide investigation

On 03-07-2023, just before 7:30PM, SPD responded to the 200 block of E Cleveland Ave regarding a vehicle roll-over accident. Officers discovered a male in the vehicle, and subsequent investigation showed the victim had been shot. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the victim later succumbed to his injuries.

SPD’s Major Crime Unit (MCU) detectives responded to the scene and are investigating. That investigation is in its preliminary stages; at the writing of this release there have been no arrests relating to this incident.

The Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the victim at a later date.
