On 03-07-23, just after 7PM, SPD responded to a commercial robbery at a business in the 3000 block of N Monroe St.

Officers learned a store employee observed a male suspect stealing items from the store. The suspect exited the establishment and approached a vehicle and individual the suspect was associated with. The employee confronted the suspect, and a physical altercation ensued.  At the conclusion of the fight a suspect discharged a firearm. The store employee was not struck, however the bullet impacted the building.

SPD officers were able to obtain a suspect description via interviews and video surveillance.

A little after midnight, an SPD patrol officer observed the suspect walking in the 2200 block of N Ash St. The suspect, who was later determined to be a 17-year-old male, was taken into custody without incident.

The male was booked into the Spokane County juvenile detention facility for Robbery 1st Degree. The investigation is on-going and additional charges are possible.
