Spokane Police remind the public to exercise their 1st Amendment rights peacefully and lawfully
A national day of Pro-Palestine/Anti-Israel protests is set for today 11/09/23. On the national level, organizers are calling for protestors to shut down highways, train stations, and bridges. In Spokane, activists are promoting “Shut it Down for Palestine” and encouraging walkouts at universities and other venues.
Some recent protests across the nation have resulted in illegal activities. SPD encourages everyone to exercise their right to assembly, free speech, and to petition the Government, peacefully and lawfully. Those choosing to engage in illegal behavior will be subject to arrest.
