Suspect arrested for Drive By Shooting, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm 

On 5-10-24 in the early morning hours, Spokane Police arrested a male suspect in connection with a shooting that took place on 4-18-24 in the 5900 block of North Lindeke Street.  The suspect in the incident had been receiving medical treatment since that time.  Probable cause was established to charge the male with Drive By Shooting, 1st Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Discharging a Weapon. 

At just after 10pm on 5-9-24, SPD was notified the suspect left a treatment facility against medical advice and his whereabouts were unknown.  Officers began an extensive search for the male that ended with his arrest around 3am in the Perry District.  Alert SPD officers recognized the vehicle the suspect left the medical facility in and contacted the suspect who was a passenger. He was picked up at the facility by a female.

Zachary M. Nelson (31) was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Drive By Shooting, 1st Degree Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Discharging a Weapon.  Nelson was also booked on a new charge in regards to a court order violation.
