Stabbing in West Spokane leaves one dead, one with serious injuries. Suspect in custody for homicide.

On June 5th, 2024 at 9:26pm, Spokane Police responded to a residence in the 5300 block of West Sunset Boulevard to assist the Spokane Fire Department.  Spokane Fire arrived at the home after receiving a medical alert.  Once there, they contacted a female at the front door with significant injuries.  The female had sustained multiple stab wounds.  A second subject was found deceased inside the home.  Information was relayed to the first responders as to who the suspect was in the assault.  The suspect was not at the location when officers arrived.  The victim female was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Officers secured the scene at the home and began a search of the area.  Acting on new information on a related residence, officers checked the home in an attempt to locate the suspect.  Upon entering, officers contacted and detained a female.  Kelly M. Hyde (34) was transported to the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) for further questioning.  Based on the information obtained during the course of the investigation, Hyde was placed under arrest and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 2nd Degree Murder and 1st Degree Assault.  Both charges are Domestic Violence related.
