One in custody in Downtown Spokane shooting

On June 7th 2024 at about 7:15pm, 911 received multiple calls about a shooting in the area of Short and Division.  Patrol officers were on scene within minutes and located a victim with serious injuries and began life saving measures.  After locating the victim, officers detained a male believed to be the suspect in the shooting.   The male was armed with a handgun when contacted by officers. 

Medics arrived on scene and the victim was transported to local hospital where he is being treated for life threatening injuries.    Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. 

Hoyt W. Webb (36) was taken into custody and booked into the Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Assault.
