Original Release:
On Aug. 12, 2024 at 1:21pm SPD responded to the area of 1900 East Francis Ave. on a report of a theft. Officers contacted the victim who advised her Tiny Home was stolen from the location. The house was being stored in a secured location at the time of the theft. Officers then made contact with employees of the storage facility. Security video shows an unknown subject wearing a hooded sweatshirt gain access by cutting through a fence earlier in the day.
The suspect then backs up a vehicle similar to a GMC 1500 truck to a Tiny Home being stored on a trailer in the fenced lot and hooks it up to the vehicle. The suspect then damages the gate to allow it to open before driving out of the parking lot with the stolen Tiny Home in tow.
If the suspect is located, probable cause exists to arrest them for 2nd Degree Burglary, 1st Degree Theft and 3rd Degree Malicious Mischief. If you have any information about this incident or the location of the stolen home, please contact Crime Check at 509.456.2233.
