On August 13th, 2024 just before 10pm, SPD responded to the area of 2nd and Division on the report of a shooting.  Officers arrived on scene to discover the victim had gone into a nearby apartment.  Upon making contact, the victim was found to have a gunshot wound to one of his arms.  The victim did not relay much information to law enforcement other than to say he was involved in a physical altercation with two subjects before being shot.  The victim advised the suspect fired the gun twice, but was only struck one time.  Officers assisted the victim in dressing his gunshot wound before medics arrived.

Witnesses advised they heard the altercation and the gunshots, before two unknown subjects left in a pickup.  The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The investigation is ongoing.  If you have information about this incident, please contact Crime Check at 509 456-2233.
