On October 1st, 2024 at 11:53am 911 was advised that a student at a local school had a gun on his person in the area of 500 West 4th Avenue.  Staff also advised that the suspect was not cooperative and at the time of the call, they were not able to speak freely with the 911 call taker.  Information was also provided to staff that the suspect had displayed the gun to another student earlier in the day.

Officers arrived on scene within two minutes of being dispatched and detained a 15-year-old male in the office.  The student was taken into custody without incident and a realistic looking BB gun was removed from his waistband.  The juvenile was arrested for Possessing Dangerous Weapons on School Facilities and booked into the Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center.
