SPD arrests suspect for theft hours after being released from jail

On October 7th, 2024 at 4:50pm SPD responded to the area of 1100 N Monroe on a report of a theft after a male exited a business with stolen items in his possession.  As officers were arriving at the business, an assisting patrol officer spotted a male matching the suspect description walking away to the south, detaining him.  After speaking with witnesses and reviewing security video, the detained male was taken into custody for 3rd Degree Theft.  The stolen items were valued at $330.00.    

Tyler M. Morigeau (29) was transported to the Spokane County Jail and booked on the theft charge.  Morigeau had been released from the jail just prior to 1pm that day after being booked on several local arrest warrants.
