East Spokane homicide suspect in custody
On November 19th, 2024 just after 1am, patrol officers assigned to the downtown area observed a vehicle parked near 400 South Maple containing a male and a female. As officers were investigating a possible protection order violation involving the occupants, the male passenger fled on foot.
Officers gave chase and detained him a short distance away. The male was found to be Orlando Jaramillo. Jaramillo was wanted in connection with the homicide that took place on October 29th. Jaramillo was taken into custody for 2nd Degree Murder and is currently being held at the Spokane County Jail.

The Spokane Police Department is seeking the assistance of community members in locating a suspect in a homicide. On October 29th, 2024 SPD responded to the area of 3700 East 1st Avenue after 911 received calls asking for law enforcement assistance.
Officers quickly responded, but it was discovered the victim had already been transported to a local hospital by a passing motorist. The victim was stabbed during an altercation and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
After interviewing witnesses, Detectives with SPD’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) have developed probable cause to arrest Orlando Jaramillo (33) for 2nd Degree Murder. Jaramillo is 5'9" and weighs roughly 160 pounds with brown eyes. (See photos below.) Jaramillo has an extensive criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous.
