On July 19th, 2025 at 2:20am, two males were operating an electric scooter on the sidewalk near the area of Division and Dalton.  As they were proceeding northbound, the male who was effectively the rear passenger on the scooter lost his balance, falling into the roadway.  The other male operating the scooter fell to the right, back towards the area of the sidewalk.  As the passenger fell into the road, a semi-truck travelling north on Division struck him.  The driver of the semi stopped the vehicle and attempted to render aid.  As officers arrived at the location, they too attempted life saving measures.  Spokane Fire arrived at the location and despite all efforts to save his life, the male died at the scene.

The driver of the semi was cooperative with law enforcement and no signs of impairment were found.  The area around the scene was closed for several hours as the investigation was conducted.

The name of the deceased will be released at later time by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office.
