2:31 p.m. - Assault suspect was armed with a handgun when arrested yesterday for the shooting on October 18th, 2018 in downtown Spokane.

Capt. Tracie Meidl Selected as National Officer of the Month by NLEOMF

1:28 p.m. - SPD is proud to announce Capt. Meidl has been selected as Officer of the Month for October by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

10:29 p.m. - One incident occurred in the Downtown area, while the other was reported at the 1200 block of E Trent.

1:53 p.m. - Downtown power is disrupted while Spokane Police Department (SPD) officers remove a subject from a confined area housing high voltage electricity.

One male hospitalized after stabbing incident on East Sprague Ave

9:45 p.m. - On 10-28 at about 7:30 PM a passerby located an adult male suffering from a stab wound at the 1600 block of E Sprague Ave

Early Morning Homicide

3:59 p.m. - Major Crimes Detectives investigated an early morning homicide in a parking lot at 2nd and Division. Suspect has been located and taken into custody.

Firefighters quickly contain apartment fire in East Spokane

10:20 a.m. - Last night at approximately 6:09 p.m., SFD responded to the 2700 E. block of Sharp Ave. on a report of a commercial structure fire.

One person stabbed in early morning downtown incident

5:16 a.m. - On 10-21, around 1am, SPD received a call of a stabbing near the intersection of Sprague and Washington. An adult male with a stab would was located.

SPD arrests Felony Hit and Run driver who injured two people.

9:12 p.m. - Spokane Police arrest Felony Hit and Run driver who injured two people.

SPD attempting to locate possible attempted child luring vehicle.

5:52 p.m. - Spokane Police are attempting to locate a vehicle involved in a possible attempted child luring which occurred near Cooper Elementary.

SPD Investigating Fatality Downtown

4:27 p.m. - SPD is on the scene on a fatality just outside of the Downtown Library. We’re asking people to avoid the area as we investigate and gather evidence.

Fire Marshal lifts restrictions on outdoor recreational fires for the

11:23 a.m. - The burn restrictions that were implemented for outdoor recreational fires were lifted this morning by order of the Spokane City Fire Marshal.

Male Arrested after Firing Gun at City Park

12:30 p.m. - SPD took a male into custody after witnesses reported he was firing a gun off at a city park last night. He was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators Reopen Northbound Division after Serious Crash

10:14 p.m. - MCU just cleared the scene of a serious injury crash at Division & Kiernan. A pedestrian was transported to a hospital w/ life threatening injuries.

Two houses destroyed after early morning house fire

Noon - One resident was treated for smoke inhalation and two firefighters sustained minor injuries after a house fire in the 100 block of E. Sinto Ave.

Cause of N. Ruby St. house fire ruled accidental

5:26 p.m. - The cause of a fire that damaged a home in the 1600 block of N. Ruby St. on Thursday has been ruled accidental.
