At approximately 2:15 a.m. a fire at a commercial building in downtown Spokane was reported.

Upon arrival, fire crews discovered light smoke in the basement, first, second, third and fourth floors of the four-story commercial building on S. Howard St. Due to the large size of the structure, it took fire crews approximately 30 minutes to locate the source of the smoke. Once located, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters reported.

The Spokane Fire Department's Special Investigation Unit is working to determine the cause of the fire.
