Early morning fire damages home, several garages and vehicles

Firefighter treated for minor injuries

At approximately 2:45 a.m., crews from the Spokane Fire Department were dispatched to a reported garage fire in the 2300 block of E. Queen Ave. in northeast Spokane.

The first arriving company found a fire in a detached garage that had quickly spread to neighboring garages and the house. The resident of the home was able to evacuate without injuries. Firefighters rescued one dog from the residence. One firefighter received minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The initial involved garage was a total loss and two other garages received moderate damage. The house and several vehicles received moderate damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigations by the Spokane Fire Department Special Investigation Unit.
