At approximately 4:20 am, the Spokane Fire Department responded to the 3800 block of East Rich Avenue for a report of a structure fire. Several units quickly responded as further information received by Dispatch came in of a detached garage on fire. Responding crews could see a large column of smoke while still en route, prompting an upgrade to a working fire.

First arriving crews reported a large volume of fire coming from the detached garage threatening a nearby RV. Crews quickly went to work, stretching hose lines and searching the RV. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and limit the spread to the RV.

The detached garage was a complete loss. The fire was quickly brought under control in under 15 minutes. All civilians living in the RV were able to evacuate.

The Spokane Fire Department Special Investigations Unit was on scene investigating the cause of the fire.
