Eligibility for Rental Assistance

Participation in the prevention process is open to all tenants who receive a qualifying notice. However, financial assistance (rental assistance) is separate and not guaranteed.

Do I Qualify?

You may qualify for assistance if both of the following apply:

1. Your household income is at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI).

  Household size
80% AMI 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
Gross Annual Income $56,500 $64,550 $72,600 $80,650 $87,150 $93,600 $100,050 $106,500
Gross Monthly Income $4,708 $5,379 $6,050 $6,721 $7,263 $7,800 $8,338 $8,875

AND

2. You are at risk of losing your housing

Who Is Prioritized

Funding for homelessness prevention is limited. To ensure assistance reaches households facing the most immediate risk of losing housing, the City prioritizes households who:

  • Have received a 14-Day Pay-or-Vacate Notice
  • Are currently in active eviction proceedings

Households in other eligible situations may still receive assistance depending on funding availability and provider capacity.
