2 p.m. - Spokane Police Patrol officers responded to a report of a car theft and assault on the morning of January 18th, 2014.

Green Street Bridge reopened for truck traffic

11:55 a.m. - Improvements to the Greene Street Bridge have reopened the important designated regional trucking route to all legal loads.

Spokane recycling rate nearly 55 percent

10:05 a.m. - Spokane County recycling grew to its highest level yet in 2012, reaching 54.7 percent.

City closures planned for MLK Day

2:16 p.m. - In observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, Jan. 20, Spokane City Hall will be closed, along with other City facilities.

3 p.m. - Spokane Police officers and the Patrol Anti-Crime Team arrest two males after a call of shots fired, a collision and a foot pursuit in downtown.

SPD arrests Albertsons' pharmacy robbery suspect

11 a.m. - Citizen tips and follow-up by patrol officers leads to the arrest of a suspect in the 1/10/14 Albertsons' pharmacy robbery.

2 p.m. - Spokane Police Major Crimes Detectives are investigating several recent pharmacy robberies occurring in Spokane and Spokane County.

Mayor to declare Monday Jacob M. Hess Day

8:26 a.m. - Spokane Mayor David Condon will declare Monday, January 13, 2014 as Sgt. Jacob M. Hess Day in honor of the fallen Marine.
