The next edition of “Council Connection,” the cable television program featuring Spokane City Council members as hosts, will be shown live tonight, Thursday, April 7, at 6 p.m. on CityCable 5.  Council Member Amber Waldref, District 1, will host the program entitled “Increasing Community Safety: A discussion with Spokane Fire about the April 26th EMS Levy and with Spokane Police regarding nuisance properties.”

The show will explore Spokane’s EMS Levy, which is up for renewal on the April 26th ballot, as well as a discussion on Spokane Police efforts to address chronic nuisance properties at the neighborhood level. Council Member Waldref is sponsoring ordinance changes that would allow the City to address nuisance properties earlier and more effectively, increasing safety and preventing neighborhood blight.

Guests are: Chief Bobby Williams, Spokane Fire Department; Tim Loncon, Paramedic, and Traci Ponto, Spokane Police Neighborhood Resource Officer.

Council Member Waldref will accept calls from viewers during the program; the phone number to reach the show is 625.6337.

“Council Connection” is shown live during the first week of every month and is replayed throughout the month. CityCable 5 is the City of Spokane’s government-access cable station; it’s found on channel 5 on the Comcast cable system in Spokane.
