Construction Impacts for Freya Street Corridor

Travel in Spokane’s northeast Freya St., Greene St., Market St. corridor will see traffic impacts again. Crews will begin work on the Freya Street railroad overpasses beginning Wednesday, Aug. 5. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow for extra time, and be alert for frequent traffic changes. Please slow down for everyone’s safety and make extra effort to support businesses impacted by the necessary projects. What to expect:

Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 5, southbound lanes of Freya Way and Freya Street will be closed between Mission Ave. and Broadway Avenue. Northbound lanes of Freya Street and Freya Way will be reduced to one lane between Broadway Avenue and Mission Avenue.

What to expect southbound:

  • Drivers traveling southbound on Greene Street will detour by turning east at Mission Avenue. Mission Avenue to turn south on Havana Street or Fancher Road, travel south to Broadway Avenue to Freya Street to continue south.
  • Consider an alternative route for southbound travel if possible.
  • Access to businesses will be maintained and the public is reminded to make the extra effort to support them.

What to expect northbound:

  • Drivers traveling northbound on Freya Street will experience slowdowns traffic will be reduced to one lane northbound between Broadway Avenue and Mission Avenue.
  • Consider an alternative route for northbound travel if possible.
  • Access to businesses will be maintained and the public is reminded to make the extra effort to support them.
