The City of Spokane’s Solid Waste Management Department is prepared to collect additional garbage for those returning to downgraded evacuation areas. Residents who remain in Level 3 evacuation zones, will not receive collection services. Please be patient as we navigate this catastrophic event. Customers will not be charged for these additional collections. Residents who live outside of recent evacuated zones will receive normally scheduled garbage, recycling, and food & yard waste collection services; however, timing may be adjusted as crews respond to evacuation areas.
NON-REGULAR PICKUP DAYS
Residents returning home can place garbage carts only out on curb starting today. Residents can put garbage carts out daily if there is a need, however, crews may not be able to collect from every neighborhood every day in addition to regular pickups. Collection crews will make special rounds to downgraded evacuation areas starting Monday. Please do not put extra bags out on non-regular pickup days. Special pickups will be unpredictable and based on resources. Fire-damaged carts will be replaced free of charge by contacting Spokane 3-1-1.
NORMAL COLLECTION DAYS
On normal collection day, residents can put out extra bags to be picked up free of charge. Please remember to have garbage carts and extra bags, recycling, and food and yard waste carts out by 6 a.m. as routes are likely to be adjusted during this time.
