WHAT:
Spokane City Council, in partnership with the Office of Neighborhood Services, will host “Community Days” to honor the late Sandy Williams, founder of The Black Lens and the Carl Maxey Center, and co-founder of Spokane Community Against Racism (SCAR).
"When envisioning Community Day events at the Council, we aimed to introduce our attendees to the essence of community beyond the Council chambers," said Council President Betsy Wilkerson. "Sandy Williams embodied community and service throughout her life, so it is a privilege not only to celebrate her birthday but also to honor the legacy of service she left for the Spokane community."
