The City of Spokane is starting construction for the Pacific Avenue Greenway this week. The project will create an east-west bike route from Howard Street to Sherman Street, improving pedestrian safety and connecting downtown Spokane to the University District. Enhancements include bike lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, green space, and signal updates.
Drivers traveling through downtown Spokane on Browne Street between Main Avenue and Pacific Avenue will have scheduled lane reductions beginning tonight, Sept. 14th. This initial phase of the project is expected to last until approximately Oct. 9th. Drivers are urged to plan ahead, allow for extra time, and be alert for frequent traffic changes. Please slow down for everyone’s safety and make extra effort to support businesses impacted by the necessary projects. Current obstruction information impacting drivers in the City is available on the construction webpage.
