A big project in a busy area of the South Hill has come to a close, and now it's time to celebrate! Phase One of construction on Lincoln/Monroe from 17th to 8th Avenues has improved drivability on the roadway and brought major updates to utilities, sidewalks, lighting, stormwater management and landscaping.

We want to thank the neighborhood, the businesses and their patrons, and all citizens for their patience while crews worked to complete the project. Construction is always difficult at best but the City works hard to minimize disruptions to citizens and businesses. The contractor on this project, Red Diamond, also made a strong effort to personally inform businesses and residents about the project's progress.

To celebrate the opening of this beautiful new street with all its enhancements – and to celebrate getting things back to normal for the neighborhood and its businesses – the City is teaming up with Rosauers CEO Jeff Philipps. Join us Saturday, Nov. 8 and help us line the street to celebrate the official end to Monroe/Lincoln Street reconstruction! Festivities begin at 11 a.m. in the Rosauers parking lot at 14th and Lincoln.
