The Riverfront Park Master Plan Citizen Advisory Committee will be hosting an evening dialogue with three of the community's experts on the origins of EXPO '74.

”Lessons of EXPO: What we can learn from the origins of Riverfront Park“ will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Kendall Yards Clubhouse (at the corner of Cedar and Summit Blvd).

The event will feature Jack Geraghty, a key member of the inner-circle of EXPO planners; Mike Kobluk, the event programmer during the World 's Fair and for the nascent Riverfront Park; and Bill Youngs author of, “The Fair and the Falls” a historical account of King Cole and the World 's Fair.

Ted McGregor, the Riverfront Park Master Plan Advisory Committee Chair is organizing the event in the hopes of building awareness about all that went into the World 's Fair and its impact on downtown and Spokane as a whole.

“The creation of Expo '74 was a kind of urban miracle, and we're lucky to still have some of that expertise in our community,” says McGregor. “So I thought it would be useful and inspirational to hear from them as we continue to work on the project they started all those years ago.”

The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
