New Heritage Marker to Honor Chief Spokan Garry in Palisades Park

A new heritage marker honoring Chief Spokan Garry will be unveiled Friday, June 9, 2017 at noon.

The marker was completed through a partnership with the Palisades Neighborhood, Spokane Tribe and City of Spokane Parks and Recreation.

The marker will reside in Palisades Park, where Chief Garry lived in his final days. It will serve as a compliment to his monument in Chief Garry Park.

The unveiling event is free and open to the public. Signs will be posted to help direct visitors, and neighborhood volunteers will assist with parking and escorting guests to the site.

When: Friday, June 9, Noon – 1 P.M.

Where: Palisades Park on W. Greenwood Rd. between Government Way and Rimrock Dr.
