SPOKANE – The Friends of Manito is proud to announce the establishment of an endowment fund to support the ongoing preservation and care of one of Spokane’s most beloved parks.

The Friends of Manito has worked with Spokane Parks & Recreation to forge an ambitious plan to supplement public funds through private donations. They have established The Friends of Manito Fund at the Innovia Foundation to increase support for ongoing park operations, maintenance, and programming.

“Over time, with private support, the goal of the endowment will be to fund a significant portion of the annual operating costs of Manito Park,” said Kelly Brown, president of The Friends of Manito. “We aim to ensure Manito remains a world-class asset and local treasure for generations to come.”

“We are honored by the collaboration and support from The Friends of Manito, and their shared vision for a vibrant future,” said Garrett Jones, director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Spokane. “When we partner with the surrounding community and work together, our parks receive a huge benefit with lasting impact.”

Donations can be made at  www.thefriendsofmanito.org, or sent to:

With the announcement of the endowment comes a new logo and website for The Friends of Manito; it expresses their role as a pollinator for the park – planting seeds for growth and new life, and ensuring the health of the park for future generations.
