SPOKANE – Exciting news for Spokane golfers – Downriver Golf Course is planning to open Friday, March 24, followed shortly by Esmeralda golf course on Monday, March 27.
Downriver is just down the river, and just far enough away from everything else. This par 71 course is nestled among tall pines along the Spokane River near Riverside State Park. Gently rolling terrain and views of the river make this a local favorite.
Esmeralda is where the obsession starts. With its open space and flat fairways lined with over 2,000 trees, Esmeralda is a great course for all skill levels.
At opening, players will enjoy permanent greens (except one temporary green on Esmeralda #11), driving ranges, and carts are allowed. Downriver’s restaurant will open March 24, and Esmeralda’s on March 28.
Esmeralda’s driving range is already open, providing a great place to warm up your swing. We’ll be hitting off of mats for a couple of weeks. Visit us from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
For tee times, please visit SpokaneGolf.org or call the courses. Downriver: 509.327.5269. Esmeralda: 509.487.6291.
Both courses are benefitting from golfers’ investments in recent irrigation renovations, saving a combined 20 million gallons of water annually while improving quality of play.
The Creek at Qualchan and Indian Canyon will share opening dates as they are known.
