SPOKANE – The historic D. C. Corbin house, now the Corbin Art Center, will mark 125 years with a drop-in event September 9 – 17 from noon – 7 p.m. daily.

“Age of Elegance Reimagined” will showcase exquisite decorations honoring the history of the home and showcasing the Corbin Art Center in a new way. Participating local businesses include Ritters Garden & Gift, Chic & Shab Upscale Home, the Tin Roof Furniture Showroom & Design Center, Jacobs Custom Living, Trovato Interiors Home Furnishings Boutique, and Bide & Burgeon: A Furniture Company.  Furnishings will be available for purchase.

The cost is $10, with all proceeds benefitting the upkeep and restoration of the center. The entrance fee will allow visitors to return anytime during the week-long event. Admission may be purchased in advance at SpokaneRec.org, or at the door.

Self-guided tours will be available, and small group tours are offered by appointment at a group rate. To coordinate a group, please email rgriffith@spokanecity.org.

Earlier this spring, the center was also host to guest speakers highlighting the history of the home and area. Coming this winter, a final commemoration event will take place December 2 – the Festive Family Holiday Fun event. Details can be found at SpokaneRec.org.

Corbin Art Center is located on the lower south hill, at 507 W. 7th Ave.

The center is an important facility for City of Spokane Parks & Recreation, home of hundreds of art camps and classes each year for all ages and abilities.
