Crime Victim Support

SPD offers trauma-informed support for victims and survivors of violent crimes with the help of SPD’s Crime Victim Advocate. The Crime Victim Advocate works closely with SPD detectives, providing victims with investigative/case updates, providing referrals to community-based advocates, referrals for community resources and more.

The primary goal of the SPD Crime Victim Advocate is to listen to survivors, help them identify what next step they want to take, address immediate safety concerns, and offer connections to resources in the community and within the Criminal Justice System.

Our victim advocate assists with the following crimes:

  • Child Physical or Sexual Abuse
  • Sexual Assault
  • Homicide (supporting families)
  • Felony Level Assault
  • Domestic Violence
  • Human Trafficking
