Trespass Authorization

Business owners and property managers can authorize SPD to enforce trespassing violations. This section explains the difference between individual and posted trespass forms and how to submit them.

Trespass Authorization

SPD supports businesses and landowners who need help enforcing trespassing violations.

There are two types of trespassing documentation:

  • Individual Trespass – Prohibits a specific person from entering the listed property
  • Posted Trespass Authorization – Grants SPD authority to enforce no-trespassing signs when businesses are closed and/or landowners are not present

To Trespass an Individual:

  1. Give the person a copy of your trespass notice
  2. Send a copy (with any photos) to: trespassing@spokanepolice.org
  3. Use your own form or download our Individual Trespassing Form

Posted Trespass Authorization:

  1. Post visible signs stating prohibited activity (e.g., "No Loitering," "No Vehicles After 6 P.M.")
  2. Place signs close to doors or in parking lots, not on public sidewalks or public streets
  3. Submit the Posted Trespassing Form to: trespassing@spokanepolice.org

Forms must be renewed annually, by January 1.
