30th annual National Night Out Against Crime

Spokane Police Department and C.O.P.S. partner for the 30th annual National Night Out Against Crime 2013, Tuesday, August 6th. The purpose of National Night Out Against Crime is to help fight crime by encouraging block parties for citizens to get to know their neighbors and become the “eyes and ears” of the community.

Chief Straub will be attending a number of National Night Out Parties, including:

  • C.O.P.S. Downtown - Wall St. between Spokane Falls Blvd and Main St. at 4:15 p.m.
  • Garland Neighborhood Party - 1403 W. Garland at 5 p.m.
  • Hamblen Park Pres. Church Party - 4102 S Crestline at 6 p.m. (the Chief will be speaking at this event)

Many neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of special events, including block parties, cookouts, ice cream socials, potlucks and games. Local city officials such as Mayor Condon and his staff, Chief Straub and his command staff, law enforcement officers, Department of Corrections officers, Fire Department, and more will also be attending the more than 50 hosted parties in the city.
