Citizen tips lead TCU to ID and arrest two for burglary

Thanks to citizen’s tips Spokane Police Department Targeted Crime Unit (TCU) ID and arrest two for the burglary of Garland District business.

On 08-26-13, Nitro Killers, a remote control hobby shop at 1011 W Garland was burglarized and numerous items were stolen. Police obtained excellent surveillance footage of the suspects which was aired by local media. Citizen tips led the Targeted Crime Unit to two suspects, 19-year-old Bronson Plummer and a 16-year-old juvenile male. Police executed search warrants at the residences of the two suspects and recovered much of the stolen property including remote controlled cars and helicopters valued at nearly $2000.

The juvenile was booked into juvenile for 2nd degree burglary, 2nd degree theft, and 1st degree trafficking stolen property. Plummer was booked into jail for 2nd degree burglary and 2nd degree theft.

The Spokane Police Department would like to thank the citizens who called in the tips about the suspects in this incident. This incident and the follow up investigation demonstrates how good surveillance video and alert citizens can work together to solve crime.
