The Spokane Police Department will recognize employees for outstanding service at the annual SPD Awards Ceremony, tonight, March 6, 2014, at 6:00 pm at the Cataldo Hall Globe Room on the Gonzaga University Campus.

The following awards will be presented at the ceremony:

  • The Life-saving Award
  • The Medal of Merit
  • The Chief’s Citation Award
  • Employee of the four quarters of 2013 and the Employee of the Year 2013
  • The ceremony will also recognize those employees promoted in 2013

In addition to our guest speaker, Mayor Condon, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Dale Storr (a former Prisoner of War) will also serve as a guest speaker, sharing his story of survival. Lt. Col. Storr was captured by Iraqi soldiers after his A-10 Thunderbolt was shot down near Kuwait. He was a prisoner of war for 33 days, spending a portion of that time in Baghdad’s Abu Ghraib prison, while his family and friends believed he had died in the plane crash.
