Spokane Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred this afternoon at a N. Spokane ice cream shop. SPD Major Crimes detectives are investigating the possibility that this incident is related to other recent robbery incidents.

At approximately 2:30 pm Spokane Police received a report of an armed robbery at the Baskin Robbins in the 1900 block on N. Monroe. Officers were on-scene less than three minutes after the initial call. Witnesses told officers that a white male, approximately 30 years old, 6’ 0” tall, wearing a gray jacket and gray hat entered the store, displayed a hand gun and demanded cash. He fled the store on foot.

Major Crimes detectives are investigating the possibility that this incident is connected to other robberies that have occurred in the City of Spokane. This is the tenth robbery incident in the City since February 28, 2014.

Detectives are also searching for a vehicle of interest in connection other previous robberies (see previous news release below). The vehicle of interest is described as a burgundy/maroon Chrysler PT Cruiser. A photo of a burgundy/maroon PT Cruiser is attached (this photo is not a photo of the actual vehicle of interest, but rather an example of the vehicle).

Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for anyone providing information leading to an arrest in these incidents. Persons with information should call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1.800.222.TIPS, or should forward the tip using the Crime Stoppers website. Tipsters do not have to give their name to collect the cash reward. Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is a civilian organization that promotes public safety by paying cash rewards for information that solves crimes. It is not affiliated with law enforcement.
