Today, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Spokane Police received a report of an attempted child abduction in the 2100 block of E. Diamond. Officers were on-scene moments after the initial call. The report indicated two ten-year-old girls were walking north on Crestline when a late 80s/early 90s, dark green GMC Jimmy SUV pulled up near them.

The report indicated the male sat idling in his vehicle and motioned the girls to come over. The girls walked away and then ran eastbound and climbed a tree to get away from the suspect. The suspect exited the vehicle, and grabbed one of the girls, carrying her approximately 200 feet and put her in his vehicle. The other girl followed the suspect and yelled for help.

As the suspect moved to get in the driver’s seat, the girl was able to open the vehicle’s passenger door and get out of the vehicle and the two girls ran to safety.

The suspect vehicle took off northbound on Crestline.

  • A tan or Hispanic male
  • In his late 30s to early 40s
  • With bushy hair and possibly facial hair
  • Wearing a white shirt
