DUI Suspect Hits SPD Patrol Car and Citizen Vehicle

Spokane Police Patrol vehicle and citizen vehicle hit at high rate of speed while stopped at stop light; Savannah L. Ashby (18) was arrested and booked into the Spokane County Jail for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Last night, May 12, 2014, Spokane Police officers in a two man patrol car were stopped at a traffic light near the intersection of N. Division and E. Wellesley. Another vehicle was also stopped at the traffic light beside the patrol car. As the traffic light turned green, a vehicle hit the SPD patrol vehicle as well as the vehicle beside the patrol vehicle from behind at a high rate of speed. No Injuries were reported in the incident.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was identified as 18-year-old Savannah L. Ashby. She was arrested for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). The three involved vehicles were towed and a search warrant was executed on Ashby’s vehicle. A bag of meth was located in the Ashby’s car. She was booked into the Spokane County Jail for Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Ashby will appear in court today at 1:30 p.m.
