Spokane police responded to a report of a possible device at Davenport at Post/Sprague. Robert W. Malley (43) was booked into Spokane County Jail for Malicious Placement of an Intimidation Device.

A Spokane Police Neighborhood Conditions Officer in downtown was flagged over by Davenport security just after noon today. The security guard advised the officer that a suspect had dropped off an envelope labeled “anthrax” and asked that it be delivered to the FBI. Officers were able to take Malley into custody and secure the envelope. Spokane Fire Department deployed hazardous materials precautions and assisted in making the scene safe. Malley was booked for the above charge pending further testing of the device.
