Last night, 6/19/14, at approximately 11:55 pm, Spokane Police received a report of an auto-pedestrian collision near the corner of N. Ash St. and W. Sharp Ave. Officers were on-scene within minutes and located an adult male in the roadway with an adult female (the driver of the vehicle) nearby. The male was quickly transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Patrol officers blocked off N. Ash from W. Maxwell to W. Sharp as SPD collision investigators responded to the scene and investigated the incident.

Initial investigation indicates the adult male was crossing N. Ash eastbound on W. Sharp when he was struck by a vehicle heading south on N. Ash.

Investigators do not believe alcohol or speed were factors for the driver in this incident. Initial investigation as well as a witness indicate the male was not in a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is on-going.
