Spokane Police Patrol Anti-Crime Team (PACT) members, acting on a tip, found and arrested Devin B. Johnson (25) at the Apple Tree Hotel in the 9500 block of N. Division late last night. Johnson escaped from a Spokane County Detention Service Work Crew at the Fairgrounds on Tuesday, 07/07/2015, stealing a Spokane County Fairground’s truck to get away.

Last night, 07/08/2015, an off-duty PACT member received a tip on where Johnson might be located and advised on-duty team members. They responded to the Apple Tree Hotel just after 9:15pm, where Johnson initially ran from officers into the hotel. He barricaded himself in a room and attempted to hide in the attic. One of the people in that hotel room was the protected party on a Domestic Violence No Contact Order with Johnson.

Officers evacuated the hotel as a precaution and called in additional resources from patrol as well as the K9 unit. They were able to talk Johnson out of the attic, taking him into custody without any further incident. He was booked for Violation of a Domestic Violence No Contact Order, Theft of a Vehicle, and 3rd Degree Escape.
