Spokane Police Arrested a Couple After the Male Assaulted an Officer During a Traffic Stop.

Today, March 3, 2016, at approximately noon, a Spokane Police Officer attempted to make a traffic stop on Dominic D L Johnson (25) on the 3600 block of N. Division. Johnson immediately went into a store at the location. Dominic tried to evade the officer in the store and refused to identify himself. When the officer attempted to detain Dominic he assaulted the officer.

The struggle ended up outside the store and Dominic was arrested with the assistance of other officers.  Dominic’s girlfriend Coleen Ketchum (22) initially stayed in the vehicle when Dominic ran inside. She tried to interfere with the arrest process.

Dominic was booked for 3rd Degree Assault, Taking a Motor Vehicle With Out Permission (TMVWOP) 2nd, Felony Warrants and Resisting Arrest.  Coleen was booked for Rendering Criminal Assistance.

The incident was captured on several officers’ body cameras and the store’s security cameras. The incident is still being investigated. Officers are still completing reports.
