Spokane Police Officers investigated a report of a shot fired in the 1000 block of east Sanson early this morning. The victim approached an officer making a traffic stop nearby and reported that a female acquaintance had just fired a gun at him. Katherine M. Nauroth (35) was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Assault with a Firearm.

Just before 1:00am this morning, April 4th, 2016, Spokane Police Patrol Officers were on a traffic stop at Nevada and Sanson. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle, officers heard what they believed was a gunshot from a residence located a few houses away. Officers were then approached by a citizen who told them a female had just fired a shot at him. The victim and the occupants of the vehicle were moved to a safe location away from the residence.

Officers quickly surrounded the suspect’s house. A female came out shortly after and was taken into custody without incident. Katherine M. Nauroth(35) was later booked for First Degree Assault with a Firearm. Nauroth and the victim are acquaintances and Spokane Police do not believe this was a random shooting.

Nobody was injured during this incident and there are no other suspects. Nauroth will be in court today at 1:30pm.
