This evening, August 7th, 2016, at 7:38pm, a woman was in the alley at the 100 Block of W 1st when a female stabbed her causing serious injuries. Officers quickly arrived on scene two minutes after the initial call. Witnesses were able to assist and provide a description and information that identified Zent as the suspect. Officers quickly set up a perimeter in the area and were able to locate Zent in a nearby alley. Officers took Zent into custody at 7:47pm without incident. Zent was booked into jail for 1st Degree Assault.

All involved parties are believed to be accounted for at this time; the investigation continues.

This incident is an example of our community coming together to make our community safer. When the victim was stabbed, several nearby citizens stepped up to provide excellent witness information to responding officers. This enabled our officers to quickly do what we do best: take a dangerous individual off the streets. We often rely on our citizens to be our “eyes and ears” and in this instance it led to the swift arrest of a felony assault suspect.
