The Spokane Police Major Crimes Unit along with members of the Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force (SRSSTF) are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1500 block of west Sharp this morning. A male victim was shot, sustaining a serious, but non-life threatening injury to his leg. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
Just before 11:00am this morning, August 25, 2016, Spokane Police responded to the report of a shooting in the 1500 block of west Sharp. Police arrived on scene to find a male victim on scene that had been shot in the leg and sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses were interviewed and the scene was processed. Originally, there was conflicting information about how the shooting happened. The investigation is in its infancy but it has been determined that the shooting was intentional. Detectives also do not believe there is a danger to the public in general. They are asking anyone with information on this incident that has not been contacted by police to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
The Spokane Regional Safe Streets Task Force in comprised of investigators from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Spokane Valley Police Department, Spokane Police Department, Washington State Patrol, Washington State Department of Corrections and the FBI. The SRSSTF is a FBI sponsored task force working to alleviate the criminal activities of gangs, violent criminals and upper level drug traffickers.
