Spokane Police are investigating a Robbery/Stabbing that happened in downtown on Wednesday. The suspect attempted to Rob a male walking down the street. During the Robbery, the victim received a stab wound to his hand. The suspect was arrested shortly after by Police.

On 11-23-16, just before 1:30 pm, Spokane Police Officers responded to 1400 W 2nd. A couple citizens called in and reported two males were in a physical fight and one of them had a knife. While responding to the call some of the citizens in the area grabbed onto the suspect and held him down for Police. A short time later Officers did arrive and took 30 year old Jeffery E Bush into custody.

The victim stated that he was walking down the street. Bush approached him with a knife in his hand. Bush then demanded property from the victim. The victim indicated that he attempted to fend off Bush and keep him away. While doing this the victim received a deep laceration to his hand that will require stitches. The victim stated that during the scuffle, several citizens came to help, holding Bush down on the ground. Other than the laceration, the victim did not receive any further injury.

Bush was booked into Jail for 1st degree Robbery and 1st degree Assault.

The Spokane Police Department would like to thank the citizens involved in detaining the suspect until Police arrived. It’s also a good reminder to people about the dangers of getting involved in a situation like this and the risk to their own lives. If you see a crime in progress, always make sure to call 911 first.
