Spokane Police arrest woman for threatening a man with, and discharging a Taser during an argument.

On April 19th, 2022 Spokane Police arrested Jennifer Franks (44) for Malicious Harassment Threat and Fear of Harm (hate bias) and Weapon Brandishing or Intimidating after an altercation with her neighbor.

Around 11:30pm on April 19, 2020 the victim stated he was outside his front door when a group of kids walked by his residence and started taunting his dog.  The victim told the kids to “just keep walking and go home.”  At this time the kids began yelling homophobic slurs at him and calling him names.

The victim states that after the kids passed, Jennifer came walking up to his residence yelling, “they’re just kids” and yelling expletives and homophobic slurs. The victim and witnesses state that Jennifer then pulled out a Taser, initiated the Taser spark, and began pointing it at him and then into the air.  One witness stated that they heard Jennifer using homophobic slurs and saying, “oh don’t worry, I have a Taser if that *expletive* does anything.”

Probable cause was developed for Malicious Harassment and Weapon Brandishing or Intimidation and Jennifer Franks was transported and booked into Spokane County Jail for those charges.
